Launched on May 1st 2026, this network, hosted by the VWC, aims to serve as a movement infrastructure that can respond to cuts and closures at our hospitals and health centers.
In recent years, communities and healthcare workers have rallied to protect the Copley Birthing Center, Mad River Family Practice, Rockingham Health Center, Rutland Pediatrics Unit, Central Vermont Inpatient Psych, and other health services. Too often, management has announced these closures with a very short time window and framed the decisions as irreversible. By establishing a statewide network prepared to take action, and accumulating lessons from each fight, we can hold the line on service cuts while building the power we need to transform our healthcare system to put people first.
What does signing up mean?
At this moment, we are building a list of people willing to take collective action to protect our services – From writing a letter to the editor, to showing up at a rally, to bringing a dish to a community meeting. Sign up to get the latest below.
