VWC Hiring an Office Administrator

Organizational Overview

The Vermont Workers’ Center (VWC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt corporation founded in 1998 as a membership organization. The VWC organizes for economic and social justice in Vermont.

Position Overview

The VWC seeks a part-time Office Administrator to help with the operational and administrative needs of our main office in Burlington. The duties require a consistent, yet flexible schedule of 5-8 hours per week. The person in this position will report to VWC director Kate Kanelstein.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Check and sort mail in Burlington office

  • Answer phone or check office messages, respond to the message

  • Process incoming donations, new memberships, or other checks for deposit

  • Scan and send incoming bills to bookkeeper, and liaison with bookkeeper and/or board officers as needed

  • Pull monthly copier report for invoicing subletters

  • Data entry for dues, donations, events, etc.

  • Coordinate and/or write thank you cards

  • Scan and file other administrative, financial, and board documents as needed

  • Order supplies and communicate with vendors as needed

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate who is able to prioritize, work independently, detail oriented, and has good communication skills.
